Meet Our Student Services Team

At Avon Middle School West, supporting students goes beyond academics. Our Student Services team is here to help students navigate challenges, celebrate successes, build connections, and thrive throughout their middle school journey. This year, we're excited to introduce an outstanding team of professionals dedicated to serving our students and families.

Nicole Wilson • School Counselor (Last Names A-K)

Portrait of Nicole Wilson

For Nicole Wilson, Avon is home. Having lived in Avon for 26 years and worked as a school counselor for 16 years, she brings a wealth of experience and a deep connection to the community. Nicole joined AMS West in January of last year and immediately felt welcomed by students, staff, and families.

As the parent of two Avon graduates, Nicole understands firsthand the positive impact schools can have on young people and families. Her goal is to provide the same sense of support and belonging that her own children experienced.

"I want to be that parent-away-from-home and a trusted person students can turn to when they need support," she says.

When she's not counseling students, Nicole coaches volleyball, a sport that has been a major part of her family's life for more than a decade. As she enters a new chapter as an empty nester, she's grateful to continue working with the students and families who make Avon such a special place.

Patrick Magee • School Counselor (Last Names L-Z)

Portrait of Patrick Magee

Patrick Magee joins AMS West from Hamilton Heights and is beginning his first year as a school counselor after recently earning his degree from Indiana University Indianapolis. A lifelong Hoosier who lives in Westfield, Patrick brings fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and a student-centered approach to supporting middle school learners.

As a father of two young sons, Patrick values relationships and community. He is passionate about helping students succeed while creating meaningful connections with families and staff. Outside of school, he enjoys sports, especially baseball, and cheers for the Cubs, Pacers, Fever, IU, and Notre Dame. He has also recently discovered a love for pickleball.

What drew Patrick to AMS West was the welcoming atmosphere.

"Everyone has been warm and friendly. The connections I've seen among staff are impressive, and I'm excited to become a part of this community."

Sarah Weber • Social Worker

Portrait of Sarah Weber

Sarah Weber is beginning her first year at Avon after returning to Indiana from Florida, where she lived since 2014. Originally from Indianapolis, Sarah and her family are excited to be part of the Avon community, with her own children now attending Avon Schools.

Sarah earned her undergraduate degree from Indiana University Bloomington and her master's degree from the University of South Florida. She is passionate about supporting students' mental health, social-emotional well-being, and family needs.

Her mission is simple but powerful: to be a safe person students and families can turn to when facing challenges.

"Students come through our doors every day carrying things we may never see. I want to help them work through those challenges and know they have support."

A devoted sports fan, Sarah enjoys everything from IU and Notre Dame athletics to Tampa Bay Lightning hockey and international sporting events. She looks forward to contributing new ideas and expertise while building on the strong foundation already established at AMS West.

Sarah Wells • Registrar & Student Services Assistant

Portrait of Sarah Wells

Sarah Wells brings a unique and fascinating background to AMS West. An Indiana University Bloomington graduate with degrees in music, theater, and an MBA, Sarah began her professional career in casting for film, television, and theater in New York City. She also worked at the prestigious Juilliard School before returning to Indianapolis.

More recently, Sarah managed her family's counseling practice and spent time serving Avon Schools as a substitute teacher. It didn't take long for her to discover a passion for working in education.

Sarah's goal is to ensure every student feels welcomed and supported from the moment they walk through the door.

"I want to create a space that is warm, welcoming, and safe. I hope to be a friendly face for students while helping make things easier for our staff, teachers, and families."

A former opera singer who still participates in community theater productions, Sarah brings creativity, compassion, and energy to her role. She says the students and staff at AMS West convinced her that this was exactly where she was meant to be.

Here to Support Every Student

Together, Patrick, Nicole, Sarah Weber, and Sarah Wells form a Student Services team committed to helping every student feel connected, supported, and successful. Whether students need academic guidance, emotional support, family resources, or simply a trusted adult to talk with, our team is ready to help.

Please join us in welcoming the AMS West Student Services Team to another great year of learning, growth, and student success!
