Here's your chance to nominate an ALL Star — any Avon Schools employee who you believe goes above and beyond to make sure Avon Schools is a place where ALL belong, learn, and grow.

Avon Schools Superintendent Dr. Scott Wyndham has an important message about the Operating Referendum Renewal for Avon parents, guardians, employees, and the community. 

In this, the first of what will be an annual Avon alumni episode, Dr. Wyndham catches up with three Avon High School grads, individuals who excelled in academics, arts, and athletics during their time in Avon and who are continuing to do great things in college and beyond.

Recently 773 parents took the time to provide feedback about their parent-teacher conference experience. In addition, many took the time to type affirming words about their experience in Avon Schools.

Avon is one of the leading school corporations in the Hoosier state, and it's not by accident. Avon students succeed in school and in life thanks to the support of their parents and family members, excellent educators and school staff, and the Avon-Washington Township community.

This month, you nominated 60 individuals and the entire Transportation department as ALL Stars — Avon Schools employees who embody our mission: ALL belong, learn, and grow. Meet this month's ALL Stars and read a few of the comments.

"I want to be able to continue the high standard of excellence that our community has come to expect, and we can only do it through the support we receive day-in and day-out from our community. I'm just thankful to be a part of such a great school district."

What was it like to be a teacher in Avon Schools in the years before and after voters approved the 2018 Operating Referendum? Avon Middle School West Teacher Michelle Howard explains.

Karie Mize and Matt Shockley have remained committed to our students, their colleagues, and our community through many highs and lows. Listen in as Dr. Wyndham talks with them about their experiences in Avon Schools and hear their firsthand accounts of the impact of Avon's failed 2011 Operating Referendum and the voter-approved 2018 Operating Referendum. You'll learn how much the community's support has meant to Avon's 11,000 students and 1,600 employees.

What was it like to be a teacher in Avon Schools in the years before and after voters approved the 2018 Operating Referendum? Avon High School Internship Coordinator Adam Clark and Pine Tree Elementary School Teacher Casie Clark explain.

"The thing I can say, quite honestly, to our community is that the school district has been faithful stewards. They have provided an annual report regarding how [2018 Operating Referendum] funds have been used. And I think the community can be proud. ... There are direct results from how those dollars have been used and the success we have seen inside and outside the classroom for our kids."

AMS West was  designed with long-term effeciencies — and savings — at the forefront. Yesterday, Superintendent Dr. Scott Wyndham was on-hand to receive a large rebate check from Steve Hite, Hendricks Power Cooperative Energy Advisor.
